A lot of yards in Oak Park Heights have beds that just kind of... exist. No real definition, mulch spilling into the grass, and nothing tying it all together. That's what we set out to fix on this project.

We built two curved garden beds using natural boulders as the front border. Each stone was set by hand and fitted tight against the next - no gaps, no wobble. The curves follow the natural flow of the yard instead of forcing sharp corners that don't belong there. It sounds simple, but getting that look right takes patience and a good eye.

Fresh mulch was laid across both beds and young ornamental grasses were planted throughout. The grasses will fill in over time and soften the edges of the boulder line in a way that looks intentional, not accidental. Right now everything is clean, open, and easy to maintain.

Black steel edging runs the full perimeter of both beds. That's what keeps the mulch from creeping into the lawn over time - and it's what separates a bed that looks good for one season from one that holds its shape for years.

This kind of work is about more than making a yard look nice. It's about building something that actually lasts and doesn't require constant fixing. We do a lot of this type of landscaping throughout the Oak Park Heights area, and the results speak for themselves.
