Chilton Stone Garden Bed and Full Re-Sod in Saint Paul

This one had two big components - a natural Chilton stone garden bed in the front yard and a complete re-sod of both the front and back yards. That's the kind of scope that takes real coordination to pull off cleanly, and that's exactly what we set out to do.

Chilton stone is a natural limestone quarried in Wisconsin. It has that clean, stacked look without feeling overdone. The irregular edges give it character, and it holds up well through Minnesota winters - freeze-thaw cycles included. We built the bed to sit as a focal point in the front yard, anchoring the space and giving the plantings a clean, defined home.

The sod work tied everything together. When you're re-sodding front and back, prep is everything. Old lawn out, grade corrected where needed, then fresh sod laid tight with no gaps. Done right, it looks seamless from day one and roots in strong.
